Here are some photo's, courtesy of Stav Bee, from the Facing You Exhibition opening which took place last Thursday evening at The Long White Cloud on Hackney Road.

Save The Children 'Mum's United' Campaign

I've just been a little road trip around the country shooting the 'Mother's United' Campaign for 'Save The Children'.

I am really happy to have been working on this campaign, it is an issue close to my heart.

I find it shocking that in this day and age in the UK so many children live in poverty.

Read the below (taken from Save The Children's website) and please support this campaign by going to Save The Children's website and signing the manifesto.

This Mother’s Day let’s give mums the help they need to work their way out of poverty.

Planned changes to the benefits system mean that, while many families will be better off, some of the poorest mums stand to lose thousands of pounds.

Most mums want to work. But the cost of childcare and losing benefits too quickly means that working often isn’t a route out of poverty.

We believe mums – and their children – deserve more.

We want working mums to keep more of their wages before they start losing any benefits; and more help with childcare costs.

“It’s a case of either heating or food – one or the other,” one parent in Glasgow told us.

That’s the kind of stark choice confronting the poorest mums across the UK. And as the recession bites deeper, it’s children who will feel it most.

Together we can help Britain’s poorest mothers lift their families out of poverty and give their children the chance to fulfill their potential.

Ella on Things Around The House

Today is my friend, Andrew's 30th birthday. Andrew is a special kind of boy and he currently has an obsession with Maddie The Coonhound.

Maddie The Coonhound is a very special kind of dog, Maddie's owner is a photographer who takes photographs of her standing on things, it is quite extraordinary and you really should check it out: http://maddieonthings.com/

...... So Andrew can't stop papping on about Maddie The Coonhound and how amazing she is. Since Andrew and I live together (along with my dog Ella), I decided to embark on a special project for his 30th birthday. Andrew is also a photographer and a collector of books/ prints.....

Inspired by Maddie, I created my own project called "Ella On Things", all shot in our flat and Andrew received a series of prints entitled as such.

Here they are.......

Luchador Pequeño Olímpico

This is Pequeño Olímpico, Spanish for "Little Olympian" which alludes to the fact that he wrestles as a mini version of 'Olympico'.

The term Mini-Estrella (Spanish for "Mini-Star") is used in lucha libre to describe a division of short professional wrestlers or luchadors, some of whom have dwarfism. The Mexican Mini-Estrellas is comparable to midget professional wrestling practiced around the world, but with the notable exception that some of the Mini's, such as Pequeño Olímpico, do not have dwarfism but are simply short.

I like the vulnerability Pequeño Olímpico shows in some of these images.
