Chicken buses in Guatemala

A 'chicken bus' (Spanish: "camioneta") is a colloquial English name for a colorful modified and decorated US school bus and transit bus that transports goods and people between communities in Honduras and Guatemala. The word "chicken" refers to the fact that rural Guatemalans regularly transport live animals on such buses, a practice that visitors from other countries often find remarkable.

I visited Guatemala last Summer and became slightly obsessed/ fascinated by 'Chicken Buses'. Personally I found the way they were decorated and personalised remarkable. Each one had it's own individual character and I found myself spending hours in the bus station watching them come and go. A journey on the bus also became an experience in itself. Guatemalan music blaring, people chatting, there always seemed to be room for more passengers and animals (mainly chickens in cages shoved on the racks above the seats) even though the bus seemed to be bursting at the seams. TU SUMMER FOR SAINSBURY'S

So here is the finished product, the latest TV Commercial for Tu clothing, the Summer range by Sainsbury's. I shot it a couple of weeks ago and it airs in the UK tomorrow and will be on for 1 week.

So, below are a sample of the Behind The Scenes shots from my latest TV Commercial for Tu Clothing by Sainsbury's. It was a fun, fairly relaxed day. We got what we wanted and a nice time was had. Thanks to all involved. The advert airs this week, from 19th May onwards...........

Behind the scenes on my LA Datsun/ fashion shoot

Here are some behind the scenes on one of my latest shoots in LA.  This shoot was quite painful as the temperature was over 40 degrees C, the flies were biting and we were out in the wilderness of West LA (being an East LA girl, West LA is THE Wilderness!). 

All worth it in the end though!

I recently produced and shot a TV Commercial for Sainsbury's Clothing Line, Tu.  I shot with a stills camera and the frames are being joined together to make a seamless 10 second Commercial.
